English Premier League giants Arsenal FC have sent a special piece of memorabilia to honor the late Raila Amolo Odinga, who was a devoted fan of the club.
While receiving the gift on behalf of the late former Prime Minister at his Nairobi office, ODM Director of Communication Philip Etale expressed his joy. As a fellow Arsenal fan, he shared how much he valued receiving this special recognition for his former boss.
Memorabilia includes any object people collect because it connects them to memorable figures, events, or experiences. These items often hold deep personal, historical, or sentimental value. Common examples include autographed sports jerseys, vintage film posters, concert tickets, yearbooks, and old photographs.
In this instance, the club posthumously sent the former PM a photo mount of the Premier League match between Arsenal and Liverpool, played on January 8 of this year.
Thank you @Arsenal. My favorite football club. I am in receipt of this booklet albeit belated, in memory of our fellow fan and my former boss the late Raila Amolo Odinga… I am proud of you. This is our season… we shall dedicate it him. pic.twitter.com/LtjQ4EArzX

Arsenal and the reigning Merseyside champions fought to a scoreless stalemate, marking the first time these two sides have finished 0–0 in the Premier League since August 2015.
Despite the result, the London club honored the late veteran politician and champion of democracy. They shared a message: “Arsenal remembers the Rt Honourable Raila Amollo Odinga.”
Philip Etale announced that he will personally hand over the club’s gifts to the Odinga family. He plans to deliver them to Mama Ida Odinga, who serves as Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi.

“This parcel I have just received today, and I think that it was sent in January and could have been delayed by the post office, which could have failed to notify our office,” Etale explained.
“I will look for Mama Ida Odinga to give her the gift which was sent to our hero and party leader, Raila Odinga,” he added, expressing his gratitude to Arsenal for honoring the fallen icon.
