Kenya Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to continue across several parts of the country until the weekend. Areas likely to experience the heaviest downpours include Nairobi, the Rift Valley, Western Kenya, and regions around Lake Victoria. According to weather experts, most of the intense rainfall is expected during the afternoon and evening hours.

The continued rains are already raising concerns over possible disruption of transport, business operations, and electricity supply in affected areas.
In a public advisory, authorities urged Kenyans to remain cautious and prioritize safety during the rainy period. Residents have been warned against crossing flooded roads or seeking shelter in open spaces during thunderstorms. Emergency response teams have also been placed on standby in case of flooding or weather-related incidents.

A spokesperson from the weather department stated, “The heaviest rainfall is expected in the afternoons and evenings, and residents should remain alert and follow safety guidelines.
Motorists have been encouraged to drive carefully, maintain safe distances, and avoid speeding on wet roads.
