Police officers at the Namanga one, stop border post in Kajiado County have stopped a cross, border bhang shipment worth Sh2. 5 million from reaching Nairobi.
The 84, kilogram drug was found during a regular luggage check at the border resulting in the arrest of two suspects. The suspects are currently at Namanga Police Station pending their court hearing.

County Police Commander Kajiado County, Alex Shikondi, confirmed the seizure and warned cross, border drug traffickers that the security agencies have increased the border surveillance.

He added that the police officers are on high alert to prevent the trafficking of drugs and other illegal goods through the Kenya, Tanzania border, and that the police will keep increasing the patrols and inspections to break the criminal networks.
The arrest highlights the continuous struggle by the security agents to fight drug trafficking and raise security at the main border points.
